Destination guide
Bangabandhu Island
বঙ্গবন্ধু দ্বীপ
Where the sea mints new land — Bangabandhu Island is the living example. Newly risen on the Sundarbans coast, the island is slowly becoming a travellers' address — crab holes, a brush of green, and nothing but sea all around. Those who have been say: no crowds, no noise — it is hard to find emptier space to sit and stare at the sea.
History & significance
An island newly formed from sea sediment — it is slowly writing its name into the Sundarbans-coast tourism list. Note: maps place much of the island administratively in Koira, Khulna — but trips also run from the Bagerhat–Mongla side.
