Destination guide
Dublar Char
দুবলার চর
An island floating at the Bay of Bengal's mouth, south of the Sundarbans — Dublar Char. A storehouse of fish; the island comes alive in the dried-fish season. Its biggest event is the Rash Purnima fair — thousands of people, lines of boats from deep in the forest, worship at the sea's edge — those who have been say it is an experience like no other in Bangladesh.
History & significance
