Gopalganj Railway Station

The town's biggest leisure spot, to outsiders' surprise: a modern station (opened November 2018) beside a lake-like beel, where people sit with fuchka, chotpoti and jhalmuri and watch the sun set over an open horizon.
History & significance
Rail first reached the region in the British era (the Kashiani-Bhatiapara line by 1932), but Gopalganj town stayed disconnected for decades; locals' demand for a Dhaka link was finally met by the Obhijatri Commuter.
How to get there
Come to Police Line in town, then a rickshaw for Tk 20-30.
