Mainamati War Cemetery

ময়নামতী ওয়ার সিমেট্রি

The Commonwealth cemetery of the Second World War — hillside green lawns, flower beds and deep silence. Locals affectionately call it the English graveyard, though the soldiers buried here came from many countries — Australia, Canada, India, Pakistan and more — and of many faiths: Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Christian. Visitors say the calm, spotless place touches the heart.
