Marine Drive (Cox's Bazar–Teknaf)
মেরিন ড্রাইভ (কক্সবাজার–টেকনাফ)
An 80-kilometre coastal road — sea on one side, green hills on the other. Travellers call it Bangladesh's most beautiful road, and some claim it's the world's longest marine drive. The road itself is a destination, studded with small stops: Daryanagar, Rejukhal kayaking, the red-crab beach, Jhau bon, and a 'Mini Bandarban' viewpoint.
History & significance
Tertiary-era hills run beside the sea along the whole route — travellers don't run short of praise for this geography. Widening work is ongoing, so expect rough patches here and there. One traveller notes the Forest Department planted the Jhau bon casuarina forest — 50,000+ saplings across ~20 hectares — in 2018–19.
How to get there
Every vehicle type starts at Dolphin Mor. Full-day reserved auto 1,200–1,500 tk (bargains down); CNG 2,500–2,700 tk; chander gari 3,000–4,000 tk (holidays 4,000–5,000; the 10am–2pm half-day is cheaper). Bike rental (near Dolphin Mor / Nishorgo / Beli Hatchery Mor): ~100 tk/hour mornings, 150–300 afternoons — bring licence+NID, a helmet each, no pillion, never ride on sand (fine), and film the bike's condition before taking it. Fuel from open shops is 135 tk/litre; a full day burns about 4 litres.

Early morning or late-afternoon light is best. In peak season, leave before 10 am.
Traveller tips
Keep one vehicle for the whole 5–6 hour circuit — cheaper than hiring per spot; settle parking charges and time limits with the driver before starting.
Rejukhal bridge jams badly on Fridays — cross in the morning.
Parasailing runs 2,000–2,500 tk (water-touch packages cost more) — though one traveller says it's been stopped for a while; check before you go.
