Destination guide
Meghla Tourist Center
মেঘলা পর্যটন কেন্দ্র
An artificial lake ringed by hills, run by the Bandarban Hill District Council. Two hanging bridges over the water, a cable car, boating, a mini safari park, a children's park and a tea garden — you enter one gate and exit another, with plenty of walking inside. So close to town that it is the first claim on any family trip.
How to get there
4–5 km from town beside the Bandarban–Keranihat road — 10–15 minutes by CNG or a reserved car. It sits at the town's entrance, so it works as the first or last stop of the city circuit.
Entry fee
৳20–50 · traveller-reported
Two figures circulate for the entry ticket — ৳20 and, in newer accounts, ৳50. The cable car and paddle boat are ৳100 each. The ৳140 coconut sold inside raised a few eyebrows.
Opening hours & best time
Everyone assumes it stays open year-round, but exact opening hours could not be confirmed — keep half a day to walk the whole complex.
Best time
Mornings are quieter. Many walk Meghla in the morning and catch the sunset at Nilachal in the afternoon.
Traveller tips
The loop between the two gates is long — check the map and fix the order of spots.
Better to head back to town for lunch — the food inside disappoints many.
Do the hanging bridge and boating back-to-back — both sit around the same lake.
