Nazirartek Shutki Palli & Beach
নাজিরারটেক শুটকি পল্লী ও সৈকত
At the town coast's edge — one of the country's largest dried-fish villages, about 100 acres, and the best place to buy shutki at per-kg rates. Beside it: a quiet beach, fishing trawlers, migratory guest birds and red crabs. The world's-longest-beach stretch begins here and runs to Teknaf.
History & significance
A long-standing centre of shutki processing — fish dried five days on bamboo frames travels across the country; Myanmar-imported fish comes up in the accounts too.
How to get there
About 7 km from Dolphin Mor — 20–25 minutes by auto.
Entry fee
৳0 · traveller-reported
Free entry; buy shutki by the kilo — cheaper than the beach stalls. Some yards are wholesale-only — ask first.
Opening hours & best time
Go in daylight — the sun-drying work is most visible mornings to midday.
Best time
Winter brings guest birds and the drying season together — the best window.
Traveller tips
Sonadia island lies opposite — trawler/boat trips run there, and some travellers overnight on it.
