Destination guide
Noapara Tea Garden & Ratanpur Lake
নোয়াপাড়া চা বাগান ও রতনপুর লেক
On the Madhabpur side: lakes folded into hills around the Noapara garden, compared by visitors to the famous Niladri lake scenery without the crowds. Sunset here is the local secret; the vast Surma garden (~4,000 acres, with a lake view) stretches the green around it.
History & significance
Tea country worked by thousands of garden workers; no separate recorded history for the viewpoint itself — its fame is traveller-driven and recent.
How to get there
Local bus Madhabpur → Ratanpur ৳10, then a tomtem (reserve ~৳200; locals pay ~৳40) to the garden and lakeside. Ratanpur/Noapara sits just off the Dhaka–Sylhet highway.

Traveller tips
Bargain the tomtem — the tourist quote starts high.
