Destination guide
Saturia Zamindar House
সাটুরিয়া জমিদার বাড়ি
In Saturia village of Rajapur upazila stands an old mansion with a weighty claim: Sher-e-Bangla A. K. Fazlul Huq was born here in 1873, in his maternal grandfather Ali Mia's house. The building is now empty and partly ruined — people come for the history, and for the weathered blend of Mughal and colonial architecture.
History & significance
The Saturia Mia Bari is listed as a protected antiquity under the Department of Archaeology. The mansion has stood for centuries without conservation — what remains is an honest, weathered shell.
