Destination guide
Shah Porir Dwip
শাহপরির দ্বীপ
Bangladesh's southernmost union — 5–6 km past Sabrang Bazar; the Naf river (Myanmar's hills across the water) on one side, the Bay of Bengal on the other. About 40,000 people live on its 12 sq km by fishing and salt farming — wide salt beds line both sides of the road. Sunrise to sunset, you get horizons in both directions.
History & significance
A frontier island — one account notes a navy radar keeps watch over the border. Another says off-season St. Martin trip permissions are arranged from here.
How to get there
2 km from Teknaf Zero Point; by auto/CNG or on foot.
Entry fee
৳10 · traveller-reported
Entry 10 tk; cross the Naf bridge onto the island.
Opening hours & best time
No fixed hours — one traveller finds evenings here calmer than the town beaches.
Best time
Winter — salt beds in the morning light, Myanmar's hills across the Naf in the afternoon.
Traveller tips
The salt-farming scenes photograph beautifully — don't disrupt the workers.
The jetty's rows of fishing boats and sundari-like trees make it a popular sunset point.
