Sura Mosque
সুরা মসজিদ
In Sura village of Ghoraghat stands a roughly five-hundred-year-old single-domed mosque — terracotta carving over brick, and stone facing on the walls. Lovers of old architecture rate it highly, yet it sits beyond the usual tourist circuit, so crowds are rare.
History & significance
No inscription survives on the mosque itself; it is dated from a stone inscription of Sultan Alauddin Husain Shah's reign (910 AH / 1504 CE) found a few miles away at Champatali, and from its style.
