Mausoleum of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের সমাধিসৌধ
The district's most-visited place: the resting place of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, with orderly gardens, a museum on his life and a white-stone tomb. Visitors treat it as a place of national reverence rather than a simple tourist spot.
History & significance
Bangabandhu was born in Tungipara and was buried here beside his father after 1975. The site grew into a full memorial complex, and the family's ancestral home stands nearby.
How to get there
Local buses run from Gopalganj town to Tungipara (Tk 40); from Kotalipara side, CNG/leguna to the gate Tk 20 and a van inside about Tk 10. Direct Dhaka-Tungipara buses cost roughly Tk 500-550.
