Chikli Water Park

চিকলি ওয়াটার পার্ক

Chikli Water Park sits in the Hanumantala area of Rangpur city, beside the century-old Chikli bil. An artificial waterfall, lakes full of colourful fish, selfie zones and a Ferris wheel make it a lovely half-day outing for families. Being inside the city, getting there is easy — and the park turns even prettier once the afternoon heat fades.

History & significance

The park was built privately on the northern edge of the century-old Chikli bil in the Hanumantala area — construction began in 2018 over about 5.5 acres of the bil leased for 30 years. Since opening it has become popular with travellers — the charming wetland-side setting is its main draw. The Chikli bil itself is a century-old wetland, said to have once served as a seaplane landing station, and it still draws migratory birds in winter.

How to get there

First get to Rangpur from anywhere in the country. From Dhaka, the bus fare is ৳750-1500 and the train runs ৳585 to ৳2013. Once in town, most travellers take an auto from the bus terminal or Medical Mor straight to the park gate for around ৳50. The park is on the zoo road, so you can also cover Surabhi Udyan, the District Police Park and Rangpur Zoo along the same route.

Entry fee

Tickets come in two steps — ৳20 at the outer gate, then another ৳30 to enter the water park inside. That is ৳50 per person in total. Rides such as the Ferris wheel and the kids zone take separate tickets inside.

  • There are restaurants and fast-food stalls inside with a posted price list — chicken meat box ৳160, barbecue ৳200, cheese ৳250.

  • Stay until the lights come on — the lit waterfall and the bridge view are at their best after dark.
