Destination guide
Guliakhali Sea Beach
গুলিয়াখালি সমুদ্রসৈকত
Guliakhali in Sitakunda is the opposite character to Cox's Bazar: mangrove and saltbush forest, mud flats, birds and crabs, almost no crowd. Made for people who want nature, not noise. The waves are gentle — nobody comes here to swim; walking the green fringe is the point.
How to get there
From Dhaka take a Sitakunda-bound bus (non-AC ৳600-700, AC ৳800-1000) or the mail train (৳120-125). From Sitakunda bazar a reserved CNG to the beach is ৳150; a small boat across the creek runs about ৳50, by several accounts.
Entry fee
৳0 · traveller-reported
No entry ticket; the boat fare is separate.
Opening hours & best time
No fixed hours — go in daylight.
Best time
Winter, with migratory birds and clear skies, is best; the greenery glows in afternoon light.
Traveller tips
Agree the creek-boat fare before boarding.
Combines neatly with Sitakunda's falls or Chandranath in one day.
Carry your trash back — the forest is still clean; keep it so.
