Khoiyachhora Waterfall
খইয়াছড়া ঝর্ণা
The 'queen of waterfalls' in Mirsharai — a seven-tier cascade chain inside Baraiyadhala National Park (some count twelve-thirteen tiers). Everyone repeats the same verdict: the seventh tier is the most beautiful, and the most dangerous to reach. In monsoon the flow, in one traveller's word, is 'abundant'.
History & significance
It lies in the Mirsharai portion of Baraiyadhala National Park, declared in 2010.
How to get there
From Dhaka, a Chattogram-bound bus (non-AC ৳600-650, AC ৳1000) or train (৳120-135). Tell the conductor to drop you at the Khoiyachhora falls gate, just before Bara Takia bazar. A CNG runs ৳20 per head to the parking point, then a 1-1.5 hour trek. Guides are available on site.
Entry fee
৳20 · traveller-reported
Ticket ৳20 per person — the counter logs your name and mobile number. Guide fee is separate.
Opening hours & best time
You must be out by 5 pm — staying later is prohibited; guides clear the trail with megaphones. Go early.
Best time
Monsoon brings full flow — and maximum slipperiness. Not for everyone.
Traveller tips
Only practiced trekkers should take the upper tiers; novices should stop below.
Gate shops sell sticks, sandals and shorts — forgotten gear is no crisis.
Carry dry food and water — no shops on the trail.
Mornings mean fewer people and better photo light.
