Koromjal Ecotourism Centre
করমজল ইকোট্যুরিজম সেন্টার
The easiest doorway to a taste of the Sundarbans in one day — a wooden walkway on the Passur river, a crocodile breeding centre, spotted deer in an enclosure, and a watchtower. You can leave Khulna in the morning and be back by night.
History & significance
Established in 2000 as a wildlife breeding and ecotourism centre at the edge of the Sundarbans near Mongla.
How to get there
Bus from Khulna towards Mongla for ৳80–100 (~50 km via Rupsha bridge), then a 20–25 minute trawler/boat ride near Mongla ferry ghat — a reserved boat costs ৳1,000–1,500.
Entry fee
No verified entry fee yet
Travellers report a ৳40 ticket (children ৳20, foreign nationals ৳500); another group paid ৳230 for four. It's a government ticket — no haggling.
Opening hours & best time
Entry opens an hour after sunrise and closes an hour before sunset, per forest department rules. Fridays are busiest.
Best time
Winter is best — the walk gets tiring in the heat. The river's face changes with every tide.
Traveller tips
Stay on the walkway — snakes and tigers are a normal presence in this forest.
If you drive, expect a parking fee near the ferry ghat (reported at ৳250).
