Mia Bari Mosque
মিয়া বাড়ি মসজিদ
One of the south's oldest and most striking historic mosques — three large domes, twelve minarets and floral lime-mortar ornamentation in red brick. It falls on the way to Bhimruli, so most travellers fold a short visit into that route.
History & significance
The dominant account: landlord Talukdar Hayat Mahmud built it in 1860 after rebelling against the British, losing his estate, spending 16 years in exile and returning under royal pardon. Others call it Sultan-era, some 500 years old — both ages circulate.
How to get there
About 20 minutes by CNG from Barishal city, on the Bhimruli route. A new road now reaches the main gate; visitors used to walk across mud and ponds.
Entry fee

Opening hours & best time
Daylight is enough for the exterior; enter during prayer times.
Best time
Pair it with the Bhimruli morning — but keep the stop short.
Traveller tips
The pond and setting in front of the mosque are part of the visit.
If you pray, see the two-storey interior.
