রেমা-কালেঙ্গা বন্যপ্রাণী অভয়ারণ্য
The district's great wild forest — Bangladesh's second largest natural forest, near the Tripura border. Bigger and quieter than Satchari, with a watchtower, three trails, camping and Tripura, Santal, Telugu and Urang villages in and around it.
History & significance
A wildlife sanctuary of about 1,796 hectares across four forest bits (Kalenga, Rema, Chanbari, Rashidpur); travellers quote 37 mammal, 167 bird and 338 plant species.
How to get there

Entry fee
৳50 · traveller-reported
About ৳50 reported; a local guide costs ৳200–500 and is genuinely recommended here.
Opening hours & best time
Daylight hours through the forest office; no fixed published schedule.
Best time
Dry season — trails get heavy in the rains. Camping possible with own gear.
Traveller tips
A forest officer has discouraged outside men from entering tribal villages after a past incident — admire from outside or go with someone the community knows.
Book the rest house well ahead if you want the overnight forest stay.
