Hazrat Shah Paran (Ra) Shrine
হযরত শাহপরাণ (র.) মাজার
Some 8–10 km from Sylhet, the shrine of Hazrat Shah Paran stands on a mound at Khadimnagar. He is commonly known as Shahjalal's nephew; a Mughal-era 10-foot stairway, an ancient three-domed mosque and a huge banyan tree ring a serene compound. Special prayers are held every Thursday after Isha and after Jumma on Fridays.
History & significance
Shah Paran was a companion and relative of Shahjalal who, by common account, preached and settled in the Khadimnagar area. The huge tree in the compound is said to have grown from his staff.
How to get there
From Dargah Gate or downtown, a shared auto costs ৳50 a head (৳100 for two), a rickshaw around ৳150 — a 20–25 minute ride. Local CNGs also run from Mazar Road; most travellers cover both shrines in one day.

Traveller tips
Photography inside is strictly banned — it may feel more relaxed than the Shahjalal shrine, but respect the rule.
There is a separate women's prayer hall.
If someone hands you a candle or a ring, they may demand money on the way out — better to decline; donate only to the main box.
See the Mughal-era mosque beside the shrine — many visitors miss it.
