Destination guide
Thakur Dighi (Mirsharai)
ঠাকুরদিঘি
A bazaar area in Mirsharai, named after an old pond here. Honestly: not a half-day destination on its own — but almost everyone heading to Mahamaya Lake or Banshbaria Beach changes transport here. CNG stand, shops, eateries — it matters as the base of the trip.
How to get there
From Sitakunda bus stand, any local vehicle to Thakurdighi Bazar — about ৳20 per person. From the bazar, a CNG auto to Mahamaya Ecopark gate: ৳15-20 local, ৳80-120 reserved. Banshbaria Beach is only 30-35 minutes from here.
Entry fee
No verified entry fee yet
No entry ticket — it's an ordinary bazaar area; your only costs are transport and food.
Opening hours & best time
A bazaar area, active all day — shops open morning to night.
Best time
Reach in the morning, grab breakfast, head to Mahamaya — then catch the sunset at Banshbaria on the way back.
Traveller tips
Bargain before reserving a CNG — reserved fare usually lands between ৳80-120.
There are eateries at the bazar; food options inside Mahamaya are thin, so stock up on water and snacks here.
Mahamaya Lake and Banshbaria Beach both connect through Thakurdighi — easy to combine in one trip.
