Sitakunda Eco Park & Botanical Garden
সীতাকুণ্ড ইকো পার্ক
Bangladesh's first eco park (2001) — botanical garden and eco park in one complex. Hill paths, rare trees, an orchid house with ~50 species, monkeys, langurs and birds — and the Suptadhara and Sahasradhara waterfalls inside. Almost every Sitakunda plan orbits this place.
History & significance
Established by the Forest Department in 2001 — the country's first eco park.
How to get there
From Dhaka, any Sitakunda-bound coach (Sayedabad/Gabtoli); from Chattogram, buses leave Madarbari/Kadamtali. The Dhaka mail train (11 pm → 6-7 am) stops at Sitakunda. A CNG to the gate is ৳100-120 (৳150 reserved); a full-day CNG covering the falls runs ৳1200-1500.
Entry fee
৳20–80 · traveller-reported
One traveller's tally: ৳80 arriving by CNG, ৳20 on foot. Others quote ৳50-60, or ৳30 with student ID. The falls inside share the same ticket.
Opening hours & best time
Hours unverified — plan daylight hours.
Best time
June-November, when the falls flow. In winter they dry up, though the trees and birds keep the park worth a walk.
Traveller tips
Food, water and toilets are inside; picnic spots too.
Sitakunda has few good hotels — most advise day-tripping from Chattogram city.
Bargain the CNG — one group took an in-park ride from ৳1200 down to ৳360.
