Sahasradhara Waterfall
সহস্রধারা ঝর্ণা
Confusingly, there are two Sahasradharas in this district — even travellers mix them up. The first sits inside Sitakunda Eco Park, past Suptadhara on the hill path; its spray catches rainbows in the sun. The second lies at Chhoto Dargah Hat on the Sitakunda-Mirsharai border, reached by boat across the dam lake.
How to get there
For the Eco Park falls: on foot from the gate, ~2 km beyond Suptadhara. For the Chhoto Dargah Hat falls: bus from Sitakunda stand ৳15 or an auto ৳100 per vehicle, then the lake crossing by boat. Many skip the Dhaka mail train for this one — it cost one traveller ten hours.
Entry fee
৳20–80 · traveller-reported
The Eco Park ticket covers the first falls. The Chhoto Dargah Hat ticket is ৳80 — ৳20 entry + ৳60 return boat. Many note the lake could be walked in 5-7 minutes, yet the boat fee stands; some call it a syndicate. Accounts differ on whether life jackets are provided.
Opening hours & best time
Last return boat 5:30 pm; the gate opens ~4:30 am.
Best time
June-November, especially after two-three days of rain. The upper cascade often dries out in winter.
Traveller tips
Step on white stones, never black — black ones are slick. The guides' own rule.
At trail forks, most say take the left path.
Order lunch at the gate hotels in advance (৳100-150) or wait it out.
Streams swell without warning in rain — judge the risk yourself.
