Photo of Benapole Border Town

Benapole Border Town

Bangladesh's busiest land port, directly opposite India's Petrapole checkpoint. The zero point draws border watchers and it is a hub for cross-border train and bus services. Hotels and food are available around Benapole/Sharsha; follow border rules when photographing.

Jess Garden Park

An urban garden in Jashore Sadar that Banglapedia lists among the district's tourist spots. A relaxed local park for an afternoon outing with family. Easy to combine with other sights on a Jashore town day trip.

Jhapa Baor Floating Bridge

A floating bridge about 1,300 feet long across Jhapa Baor near Rajganj in Monirampur upazila — known as the first and longest floating bridge in Bangladesh. Listed in the district administration’s tourist-spot directory. Boat trips on the baor, its calm wetland scenery and winter migratory birds are the main draws.

Sagardari and Madhu Palli

Birthplace of the epic poet Michael Madhusudan Dutt, on the Kopotaksho river in Keshabpur upazila. His ancestral house, Modhu Palli, is preserved there, and an annual fair organised by the district council is held on his birthday. A literary-historic stop combined with rural riverside scenery.
